Plumbers are responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing water, gas, ventilation, heating, sewerage, and drainage systems. Plumbers are able to work anywhere in the country as their skills can often be universally applied to a whole range of jobs. Plumbers can choose to specialise in residential, industrial, or commercial work, or provide more general plumbing services.
To work as a plumber, you will need to complete a plumbing apprenticeship. Plumbing apprenticeships usually take 48 months to complete.
To enhance your chances of finding work, you could also complete a pre-apprenticeship course at a TAFE or other tertiary education institution.
