Newcastle Light Rail is a high capacity frequent and reliable service that travels through the city centre, connecting key activity precincts and opening up transportation to the city. The Light Rail will include six stops Newcastle Interchange, Honeysuckle, Civic, Crown street, Queens Wharf and Newcastle Beach. The new train service is a high frequency turn up and go service during peak hours and designed to help reduce traffic congestion. The new Light Rail system has the capacity to transport 1200 people per hour.
Workfast labour hire will be on the ground assisting in providing labourers and skilled tradesmen to help build 2.7 kilometres of double tracking for the Newcastle Light Rail Project.
